SERF - Offshore Sites
SERF currently maintains two real-time offshore observing stations on existing oil/gas production platforms. Both stations measure meteorological data such as wind speed, wind direction, air and water temperature, barometric pressure, as well as water velocity profiles with directional wave height period and direction using a bottom-mounted acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP). The stations provide real-time observations for the National Weather Service and the Port of Corpus Christi.
