University Beach High-Frequency Radar (HFR2)

The second HF Radar used to provide coverage for Corpus Christi Bay is located across the street from the TAMUCC at the University Beach. This is a 25-MHz unit and like the North Beach site, is also capable of being moved for remote rapid deployment. The HF Radar equipment is housed in an air-conditioned wells cargo trailer. The site receives its power from the local power grid, and access to the site for data transfer and control can be accomplished via a VPN link through a wireless Ethernet link to the North Beach site.
